Bob Lanza with The First Lady Of The Blues Trudy Lynn Featuring Steve Krase

There is only one way to play the blues: From the heart with ferocity as if your life depends on it. Singer, songwriter and guitarist Bob Lanza from the wilds of north New Jersey leaves no doubt as to motivation with a scorching second release following his debut Things Ain’t So Bad (2009). Years with Floyd Phillips and the Mudflaps and backing legends like James Cotton prepared his audition as a new blues guitar hero.

Trudy Brings Her Band up From Houston, Texas for this Show. Featuring Rock Romano on Bass, and Tamara Williams on Drums, Steve Krase, harmonoica. Come see one of the worlds greatest Blues singers right in your own backyard.

"Lynn, who turns 70 in August, clocked time in her early career with such Texas royalty as Albert Collins and Clarence Green. She cut her debut in 1989 for Ichiban Records (a blast from the blues-labeled past). 2014's Royal Oaks Blues Cafe owned the No. 1 slot on Billboard's Blues Chart. She was inducted into the Houston Music Hall of Fame in 2015. So when her 12th album broadcasts I'll Sing The Blues For You, that's no cliched boast. That's very much a long-standing statement of purpose."

NJP Presents: Schooltree w/ special guest: Shueh-li Ong

2PM show, 1PM doors

From siren song of doom to shredding anthem of the righteous, Schooltree is art rock built for an amphitheater. Their second studio release and multimedia epic Heterotopia is a "fantastically, defiantly ambitious" (NPR) rock opera double album, fusing the research of classical music and literature with high-voltage pop songwriting in the absorbing, allegorical story of Suzi in Otherspace.

Shueh-li Ong

A world renown exponent on the oldest electronic musical instrument; Shueh-li Ong has been crowned Queen of the theremin in Nashville TN, and Diva in Singapore.

NJP Presents: Unreal City / No More Pain

2PM show, 1PM doors.

Unreal City

Unreal City, Italian progressive rock band, was founded in 2008 by pianist/keyboardist Emanuele Tarasconi and guitarist Francesca Zanetta.

No More Pain

No More Pain is a four piece band from central New Jersey. They are concentrated as a true progressive rock arrangement with a grungy epicenter. The current lineup of the band consists of Michael Roman (Guitar/Vocals), Dan Rainone (Drums/Vocals), Matt McDermott (Keyboards/Vocals), and John Moroney (Bass). No More Pain employs virtuosic musicianship with songwriting to match. Their music can best be described as a mellow soundscape, followed by a direct kick to the face, and are still to this day: "The only band preferred by both God and Satan." No More Pain stands on the thin line between rock and progressive, where hard hitting riffs and emotive vocals combine with complex harmony, rhythm, and thought provoking lyrics

Forget The Whale / Indian Jones / Night on the Sun / Vermilion

Forget the Whale, a four piece hailing primarily from the 6th Borough, America’s Golden Door, Jersey City, includes members Alishia Taiping (lead vocals, bass) Dan Pieraccini (bass, keys, vocals), Peter Durning (guitar, harmonica) and AJ Zienowicz (drums, vocals). It’s been said, of all the things Forget the Whale has, a ‘sound’ is not one of them. It’s not that they have no sound: blues, rock, alternative, R&B, country, funk and nu-metal all become ingredients for Forget the Whale’s veritable witches’ brew.

Indian Jones play soulful rock & roll that will warm your heart and kick your ass at the same time.

Based in the North Jersey/NYC area, Night on the Sun is a 4-piece "electro pop n soul" band focused on pioneering a unique brand of pop music: catchy and accessible, yet vulnerable and daring. Headed by singer/songwriter Nick Louis, the music plays to his emotive strengths as an artist; melding what is authentic, raw and intelligent with a modern soundscape lush with hip hop percussion, heavy synths and arena-worthy choruses.

Vermilion was formed by the family trio of vocalist extraordinaire Brooke Shive, brother and guitarist/songwriter, Ryan David Shive and their father, drummer and songwriter, Steve Shive in early 2014. The amazing guitar work of friend and musical brother Tom Livecchi, also a contributing songwriter, along with their new bassist, & backing vocalist, rounds out the current lineup. Brooke and Steve, formerly the driving forces behind their band, Brooke Shive & the 45’s, decided to move in a younger fresher, musical direction, and the time was right to bring Ryan and his good friend Tom on board their adventure. The musical depth of this band in such a short time is nothing short of amazing, as all of the material they perform literally did not exist 9 months ago.

The Anderson Council / Brixton Riot / Hair Magic / Lieder

Established in 1999, The Anderson Council is the brainchild of singer and songwriter Peter Horvath, whose love affair with late 60’s pop informs and inspires both the band’s sound and direction. The quartet of Horvath, guitarist Dave Whitehead, drummer Chris Ryan and bassist Christopher Rousseau enthralls listeners with irresistible hooks and captivates them with intelligent layers of sound.

Combining American and English influences, The Brixton Riot fuses elements of 70's power-pop and punk, 80's jangle-rock and 90's indie rock into a sound that is both familiar and distinct. The Replacements, Big Star and The Jam represent only a small fraction of the band's influences.

Lieder, an original band based out of northern New Jersey, displays an aggressive style of power pop, steeped in the tradition of American and British Rock & Roll. Originally formed in the spring of 2007, Lieder (which means “songs” in German) was personally given its name by rock legend Pete Townshend of The Who.
